MEETING ANNOUNCEMENT

We will be holding an informational meeting on Tuesday, May 10th at 10am. If you are interested in attending and learning more about this project, please RSVP to osc@oregon-electric.com.

The Oregon Sustainability Center is the largest project attempting to meet the Living Building Challenge (http://www.ilbi.org). Many stringent and difficult requirements, including net-zero energy and net-zero water, must be met in order to achieve the goals of the LBC.  While the energy and water requirements of the project are the most often referenced, the Materials Red List and Appropriate Sourcing imperatives will likely prove the most difficult to accomplish. 

Electrical materials have yet to experience the type of scrutiny that many other building materials have encountered as part of the LEED certification process. That fact requires us to begin seeking information early about products that will meet or exceed the LBC standards. We ask for your involvement early to catalog which materials and manufacturers we will be eligible for inclusion on this high-profile, ambitious project.
